Summary

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is a very straightforward cooler, there are no real bells and or whistles, unlike some monstrous behemoths we’ve seen that sport three fans.  The EVO maintains a very slim profile, is rather lightweight, and we like how Cooler Master has kept a winning formula here. The aesthetics aren’t terribly inspiring, but they’re not offensive, and we certainly need to keep in mind the market for a cooler like this, as well as the affordable price point.

The mounting system continues to get the job done, covering every current CPU Socket as well as a past few ones as well. Even the most novice of users should be able to install this cooler without any issue.

The fan noise on the Hyper 212 EVO is not a concern, as this cooler throttled up and down during our testing, and with a fully enclosed case it was tough to distinguish between our other case fans and the cooler itself, which is how an air cooling solution should work anyways.

With a price tag of $35 USD, the performance doesn’t cost very much at all, providing an excellent balance of performance and price. The temperature improvements are nearly negligible, so there’s nothing ground shaking here, but it’s encouraging to see Cooler Master to continue to tweak things and make every effort to improve the Hyper 212 lineup.  We continue to remain impressed with the Hyper 212 lineup, as they continue to offer outstanding value to consumers on a modest budget, and we’ll continue to recommend them, including the Hyper 212 EVO.
