Summary

From a visual styling standpiont, the BitFenix Shinobi Windowed case has some beautiful subtle touches that add to the appeal. The smooth lines and matte finish contrast nicely against the glossy accents, and the look and feel of the SofTouch on the front bezel is fabulous. Frankly, we love the uncluttered look; too often we think manufacturers equate budget cases with garish designs. Thankfully BitFenix hasn’t succumbed to that false notion; the Shinobi has a touch of classic elegance to it.

The build quality of this chassis is outstanding, which is honestly a bit surprising for the price point. It’s more than we expected, and the features that are included are handy and practical. We rarely see washable filters and an SSD drive caddy on a modestly-priced case. Further, the opportunity to house a 240mm radiator is a bonus, and the flexible air cooling options here are great as well. Let’s not forget to mention the gorgeous tinted side panel window to show off a clean install as well.

It’s a bit of rarity where we see that affordable doesn’t mean cheap, and the BitFenix Shinobi is a very good example of that. The attention to detail and styling, great build quality, and handy features are things we often see on cases that cost considerably more. But with a price tag of only $70, BitFenix has served notice that the Shinobi is an impressive and affordable mid-tower design.
