Ultimately, the BitFenix Flo headset was great. The pure comfort level alone would make me buy these. That’s not to say it’s the only thing I liked about them, they also look very cool. The all blue finish highlighted by the BitFenix logo really make it stand out. Having a detachable microphone that is so easy to remove earned major points for me as well.
Using the Flo headset for your everyday music enjoyment, watching YouTube videos or watching a movie can easily be done thanks to the detachable microphone. This makes the headset practical for everyday use as well as gaming. Of course, gaming sound quality was excellent as well. When you are done gaming and want to take it mobile, just disconnect the audio cable with the in-line remote and go. As far as the volume is concerned: While wearing the headset with the volume maxed out, sounds weren’t overwhelming, nor did it hurt your hearing with it’s more reasonable peak volume level. Furthermore, at the same peak volume with them sitting on the desk, the Flo was still easy to hear with crisp, clear sound.
The only thing that I can really quibble about is that the microphone isn’t flexible and the headband is not adjustable due to the bent wires running from each speaker. Despite these minor issues, for the most part, you can’t ask for much more in a headset. Priced at $29.99 with a 2 year warranty makes them a very good bargain too. Taking everything into account, we present the BitFenix Flo with PureOverclock’s Great Hardware Award.
