Introduction

We’ve seen a rise in popularity of dual GPUs, Quad CPUs, and more power hungry system components. While manufacturers are working on power efficiency for their products, the general trend has been higher energy consumption. Systems now feature more graphics cards, and bigger cards overall. One of the popular graphics cards companies in the market is BFG, known for their high performance Nvidia products. The need to adequately and stably power those beefy graphics cards is a byproduct, and perhaps ironically, BFG just so happens to also offer power supplies in their product lineup.

In today’s economy many people need to be frugal, which is often very difficult when shopping for a kilowatt power supply. However, we may be in luck today since we’re looking at the BFG EX-1000 power supply, a very sleek kilowatt modular unit that promises power for those on a tight budget.

Thanks go to our friends at BFG for supplying the review sample.
