Be Quiet! is looking to make a splash in the North American market, and from we’ve seen with the Dark Power Prop 10 750W, we expect that to happen. Be Quiet! has packed a boatload of unique features into a very sleekly designed package, and we can’t help but be impressed by what’s being offered here.

From a performance standpoint, the Dark Power Pro has excellent voltage regulation and ripple suppression, easily handling everything we tossed at it, and even when mildly overloaded. Noise levels are impressively low, and essentially non-existent in a normal case setup, as the fan didn’t appear to ramp up very much even when fully loaded.

In terms of functionality, this unit unfortunately isn’t entirely modular, but few power supplies are in this wattage range, so you’ll need to spend a wee bit of time on cable management to keep your case impressively clean to match the sexy looks of the Dark Power Pro 10. That said, there’s a very large complement of cables included to satisfy just about any system setup. More significantly, however, the Overclocking Key offers a choice between either a single or multi-rail +12V setup, so this innovative approach should quiet the longstanding debate we’ve seen many times in our own forums. And lastly, with an 80 PLUS Gold rating, this unit is respectably efficient.

With a retail price of about $190, this is really the only weakness we could find in an otherwise impressive product. On its own aesthetic, performance, and functional merits, the Dark Power Pro 750W stands tall, but the price deflates the end result. There’s stiff competition in this market segment, and there are some other very good products out there that can be found for nearly the same price, or quite a bit lower in a few instances if you’re willing to let go of some of the innovative features found here. It’s a question of priorities and what a consumer might value more. There isn’t a right or wrong answer, but we do know that value does factor into the equation rather considerably in the North American marketplace.

In the end, the Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 750W is an excellent power supply, showcasing stunning aesthetics, impressive build quality, and excellent performance. That combination does come with a hefty price tag when viewed against the competition, but you do get what you pay for from Be Quiet!.
