ASUS Xonar DG Audio Card
It wasn’t very long ago that we had the opportunity to look at the ASUS Xonar DS audio card which showed some pretty impressive results when looking at the price versus performance. And now ASUS has released the Xonar DG, close but not quite the same as the former card.
The two cards look very similar, but there are a few differences between these entry level cards. For instance, the DG doesn’t have the ability to change out the Op-amp to improve overall sound quality, and this time around the DG is only a 5.1 surround card. Those minor things aside, the DG is also aimed directly at gamers who often prefer to listen to pretty much anything through their headphones and not a set of speakers.
So, is the Xonar DG worth the extra bit of cash over onboard sound? Let’s get into the review and find out how it stands up to the DS.
Let’s take a close look at the ASUS Xonar DG and listen to what it can do for an affordable card.
