Introduction

How large is your digital media collection?? Don?t forget about all those hundreds or perhaps thousands of digital images from that new digital camera or those home movies from your digital camcorders, iPhones, iPods, and the many other personal digital devises.? And let?s not forget the massive music collections and backups of all those expensive DVD and Blu-ray movies that we have accumulated, hopefully from legal sources.? The more you think about it, the more we have to admit, we have gone digital.? Now we have to find a digital way to watch, listen, and show off all of our goodies, and that?s where the ASUS O!Play Air HDP-R3 comes to the rescue.

The O!Play does not have internal storage; it is designed to serve as a conduit between the drives storing your media collection and that big screen TV, High Definition of course with that awesome sound system which comprises our Home Theater setup.

This is what ASUS has to say about the O!Play media player:

"ASUS has unveiled the newest media player, the O!Play Air HDP-R3 HD media player that enables users to access all their digital content from various sources wirelessly?for the most convenient multimedia entertainment experience. The O!Play Air HDP-R3 streams a wide variety of audio, photo, and high-definition video formats from PCs, NAS, card readers and other USB or eSATA-connected devices. Formats supported include MPEG1/2/4, H.264, VC-1, and the popular RMVB. Additionally, the HD media player delivers up to 1080p Full HD image rendering."

Thanks to ASUS for providing the review sample.
