Extreme Overclocking

Old school overclockers still love to see the overclocking potential of a new product. As of late, it seems like fewer people push processors and motherboards, but at Pure OC, we love to break out the extreme cooling test-bench, especially when we review ASUS ROG motherboards.

We tuned the system to 5.6GHz and were able to run a few benchmarks using a killer 1.8 volts.

Our SuperPi score at 1m was also off the charts at 6.611s.

Our temperatures dipped to a chilly -67 degrees Celsius, low enough to cool a frosty beverage in no time.

To put an exclamation point on things, we pulled a high overclock of 5.7GHz. This is very good considering we are running a retail Core i7 3770K, that isn’t the best sample we’ve seen.

Let’s put a wrap on things.
