Quick Look

When AMD made the move from titanic clashes with Nvidia for framerate supremacy, and instead tower better value for consumers’ money, it was a bold but ultimately smart move. It turns out that the market does not support the foolish pursuit of minimal gains for high costs, particularly in today’s difficult economic times. AMD released their 5000 series cards on 40nm processing, bringing evolutionary development and progress to the masses. We’re bang-for-the-buck fanboys, and getting great performance for an affordable price makes us drool.

The EAH5670 is a budget gaming card for consumers who are looking to do some gaming and don’t need the horsepower of a 5700 series card, let alone the flagship 5800’s. The EAH5670 operates at a core of 775 MHz and memory speed of 1000 MHz, delivering 64.0 GB/sec of memory bandwidth. The 5670 is currently viewed as the budget DX11 card by AMD, with the 5700 and 5800 series cards sitting higher on the performance totem pole.

Let’s dive in and start to examine the what the 5000 series cards bring in terms of technology.
