Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors and new Socket 1155 have been the talk of the tech community lately. Following Intel’s "tick-tock" development strategy, the new chips may be move evolutionary than revolutionary, but they do bring some significant changes to the mix that promise new ways of thinking.

With the new Socket 1155 comes new chipsets, and therefore motherboards as well. And today we’re looking a three P67 motherboards from ASRock, known for producing motherboards to suit modest budgets. New for the P67 lineup are the Transformer, Pro3, and Extreme6. Each of these boards share some similarities but also differences, and one board is particularly innovative, bringing the P67 chipset to the previous-gen 1156 socket.

There are some very interesting features here, not the least of which is the groundbreaking UEFI BIOS, the likes of which have never been seen before on a PC. And add in some auto overclocking goodness and an impressive pricing scheme, and ASRock is serving notice they’re ready to play hardball with the competition.
