ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional Series
Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors and P67 chipset have been the talk of the tech community lately, and not enirely for the right reasons. By now, just about everyone knows about Intel’s billion dollar "SATAgate" boondoggle. However, Intel has moved extremely quickly to correct the chipset flaw, and motherboard manufacturers have been working tirelessly to take care of their customers who already purchased a P67 product. Thankfully the new B3 Revision boards are on the verge of shipping, so likely the focus will shift away from the costly bump in the road back to the burnout marks that the new Sandy Bridge chips have left in the performance pavement.
So, since things are settling back into place with the P67 fix, we’re also testing motherboards again. Oh, happy day! The latest P67 board to hit our bench is the ASRock Fatal1ty Professional Series, a premium board that promises innovative features at a respectable price.
There are some very interesting features here, not the least of which is the groundbreaking UEFI BIOS, the likes of which have never been seen before on a PC until P67 came along. Add in some auto overclocking goodness and a sexy colour scheme, and ASRock is serving notice they’re ready to play hardball with the competition.
Let’s dive in and see what ASRock is bringing to the table with this flagship P67 motherboard
