Nanoxia Deep Silence 6 Big Tower Case

Today I have the pleasure of reviewing the Nanoxia Deep Silence 6 Big-Tower case, designed by a company well known in Europe for their Legendary Green Nanoxia Nano-bearing fans and peripherals. Nanoxia has now entered the enthusiast arena with a brand new arrival, called the Deep Silence 6. It is the big brother to their well-known Deep Silence 1 Mid-Tower Chassis, and it is truly a big tower chassis and a huge HPTX case from the next generation of Silent PC cases. It is taller, deeper, and wider than any of their current cases, while still keeping with their simple but classic design. This huge tower offers the user enormous space with new and innovative technologies, such as the "Active Air Chimney" to improve the ventilation of the case. Along with these latest innovations Nanoxia has always focused on minimizing noise and system temperatures. The side panels and top cover are fitted with specially designed, noise reducing insulation materials to minimize and absorb any noises. The solid 1mm left and right doors like the predecessor's. They use sound absorbing materials that contribute significantly to the most effective noise reduction achieved by the Deep Silence series to date. Also responsible for the quietness of the case are the pre-installed 140mm Nanoxia fans of the brand new DS-Series. This most recent Nanoxia fan-series features a new impeller design, optimized for the best possible mix of silence and high CFM cooling capacity. The Deep Silence 6 case i...

Mionix Naos 7000 and Avior 7000

Today we're looking at the latest iterations of these Mionix flagship mice, the Naos 7000 and Avior 7000. Despite the difference in DPI, the other major difference is these two new products utilize optical sensors rather than laser internals. This has several pros and cons, which we'll discuss in more detail, but the overarching point to realize here is you get nearly the same mice for less money. We're certainly fans of getting good value, so let's take a closer look at the Mionix Naos 7000 and Avior 7000 and find out if they're worth your money.

XSPC Razor R9 290/290X

With the release of the AMD R9 Hawaii series GPU came top notch single GPU gaming performance. The R9-290x quickly took the #1 spot in most reviews. However there was a universal gripe when it came to heat. The 290x packed 2816 stream processing units(cores) on a 438 mm²die, running at 1Ghz. This combination apparently was a recipe to reach epic load temperatures. While some of us was waiting for AMD partners to come up with after-market cooling solutions to correct this reported problem, XSPC went to work on an enthusiast class answer to the heat. The XSPC Razor 290/290x full cover water block was designed to provide the best cooling solution without having a large heatsink and the noise of air cooling. XSPC is known for providing great cost effective water cooling components for water cooling enthusiasts. We expect the Razor 290/290x to continue that trend. Let's read on to find out if it does.

ASUS P9X79-E WS Motherboard Review

Introduction The X79 based chipset motherboards have been out for quite some time now and with the recent launch of Intel Ivy-Bridge E chips, Intel didn’t do much at this time to improve the chipset. Some will say it’s not needed and some will advise against this and say go for the new release of the Z87 based chipset. While the Z87 base chipset did have great improvements for the newly release Haswell chips, we still see a strong stand from the X79 chipset. Today, we are going to take a look at a board from ASUS that has given the X79 chipset a revision which will push the limits and take full use on Ivy-B E. This is the new ASUS P9X79-E WS motherboard. What does WS stand for? Well this is designed to be a workstation motherboard for those serious video encoders or server and workload crunching. Of course, it makes for a great enthusiast’s motherboard too.   While this P9X79-E WS (workstation) motherboard is not as mainstream as some of the newer Z87 chipset based boards, ASUS has put together some unique touches to offer better performance and features. Let’s dive in a talk more about what this X79 chipset based board can do.

Silverstone Strider Gold S Series 850W PSU and PP07 Cable Extensions

One of the most common questions we ask when working on a new computer build is "what power supply (PSU) should I get?" Often times it can be a tricky decision, as many manufacturers make the same claims as one another. What can compound this decision-making process is the amount of space you have to work with in your rig. If you are building a smaller form-factor PC, the size of your PSU can limit the total wattage you can get in your PSU as well, which can confound you even more. Silverstone is here to tell you that size doesn't mean everything, and that you can have your cake and eat it, too. Enter their Strider Gold S series power supplies, which are labeled as not only the world's smallest ATX power supplies, but are also rated to supply as much as 850W of peak output power. For today's review, we have their top dog on hand: rated at 80 Plus Gold certification and being fully modular with a silent operating 120mm fan and 850W of total power output, we'll see if this PSU lives up to Silverstone's legendary quality. We will also be taking a quick look at their new line of PP07 braided cable extensions for those of you who are simply not satisfied with plain looking cables, but lack the skill/time/patience to do your own custom braiding. First, a word on Silverstone for those who are new to the brand:

BitFenix Prodigy M

The desktop PC has evolved into a platform for enthusiasts and modders to cram as much gear into a case as they can. Sometimes it is just not practical for taking to a LAN or using as an HTPC due to the size and weight of a custom PC. There has been a concerted effort by some case manufacturers to reduce the footprint of the desktop without leaving the features of a larger chassis behind. We all have grown spoiled to the conveniences of cable routing, drive bays and countless cooling options. This is where the ingenuity and innovation of BitFenix comes into play. BitFenfix, the creator of the popular mini ITX Prodigy case is looking to fill a gap in the small form factor market. Many complained the original Prodigy did not support the larger micro ATX board and felt left out. The Prodigy M with full support for micro ATX and mini ITX boards is said to offer the same flexibility and style of the original Prodigy case with the same small footprint. Let's take a look into how BitFenix pulled this off.
