OCZ Storage Solutions Announces New Vertex 460 SSD Series

Introduction In SAN JOSE, CA on January 22, 2014 OCZ Storage Solutions – a Toshiba Group Company announced its new Vertex 460 SATA III SSD Series, which evolved from the 20nm-based Vertex 450. The Vertex 460 uses the company’s proprietary Barefoot 3 (BF3) M10 controller with Toshiba’s 19nm MLC NAND flash memory. This drive offers up to 545 MB/s sequential reads, 525 MB/s sequential writes, 95,000 4K random read IOPS, and up to 90,000 4K random write IOPS. It further features sustained 4K random write performance up to 23,000 IOPS. OCZ’s BF3 M10 controller is derived from the original controller that features AES-256 encryption and a power-optimized clock. Vertex 460 SSDs are rated to deliver 20GB of host writes per day for a 3-year warranty and are available in 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB capacities. Toshiba Corporation Completes Acquisition of OCZ Technology Group’s Assets and Launches New Subsidiary, OCZ Storage Solutions

Introduction In SAN JOSE, CA un January 21, 2014, the Toshiba Corporation finalized the purchase of substantially all assets of OCZ Technology Group, thus making it a wholly owned subsidiary of the Toshiba Group Company. Effective immediately it will operate independently as OCZ Storage Solutions. This acquisition provides Toshiba with OCZ’s enterprise and client SSD businesses and enables the established OCZ brand to continue in full force. New in PCMark 8 version 2.0.191

Introduction There is a major update that adds new tests and workloads to PCMark 8. Scores from the Home, Creative and Work benchmarks in PCMark 8 v2.0.191 are not comparable with scores from v1.2.157 or other previous versions. This update adds a new Compatibility Mode setting to the Professional and Advanced Editions that enables you to run older versions of each test for times when you need to compare scores with historical benchmark results.  These notes are a summary of the changes in this update. Please read the PCMark 8 Technical Guide for detailed descriptions of the new tests and workloads. Home benchmark Home updated to version 3.0. Scores should not be compared with previous versions. Nanoxia Deep Silence 6 Big Tower Case

Today I have the pleasure of reviewing the Nanoxia Deep Silence 6 Big-Tower case, designed by a company well known in Europe for their Legendary Green Nanoxia Nano-bearing fans and peripherals. Nanoxia has now entered the enthusiast arena with a brand new arrival, called the Deep Silence 6. It is the big brother to their well-known Deep Silence 1 Mid-Tower Chassis, and it is truly a big tower chassis and a huge HPTX case from the next generation of Silent PC cases. It is taller, deeper, and wider than any of their current cases, while still keeping with their simple but classic design. This huge tower offers the user enormous space with new and innovative technologies, such as the "Active Air Chimney" to improve the ventilation of the case. Along with these latest innovations Nanoxia has always focused on minimizing noise and system temperatures. The side panels and top cover are fitted with specially designed, noise reducing insulation materials to minimize and absorb any noises. The solid 1mm left and right doors like the predecessor's.
