SilverStone Tundra TD02 AIO CPU Cooler Review

Introduction Up for review today on our test bench is the SilverStone Tundra TD02 AIO CPU cooler. The TD02 is SilverStone’s first attempt at breaking into the AIO liquid cooling market. Since 2003 SilverStone has been bringing us unique and quality-built products like the TJ11 computer case, which is still being modded today, and exceptional air coolers. Unlike most of the AIO coolers out there the TD02 features a 45mm thick radiator instead of your standard 25-30mm and has a copper base with a nickel-plated aluminum unibody. The copper base is also unique; most AIO blocks I’ve seen aren’t a full cover, meaning there are screws on the bottom of the block holding a lid on. Unlike those blocks, as we will see later on, the TD02 is a solid piece of copper giving us full coverage on our CPU. The SilverStone Tundra TD02 comes with 2 x 120mm PMW controlled fans that have a static pressure of 3.5mm/H20 and a max airflow of 92.5CFM. Will SilverStone’s first attempt at entering the AIO CPU cooling market be able to hang with the veterans? I guess you will have to keep reading to find out. Before we jump into the review here is a word about SilverStone:

SilverStone CP11 SATA cable

Introduction  One of the biggest letdowns while installing or upgrading graphics cards is to find out the cards blocks off SATA connectors on their motherboards. This is still a common occurrence as motherboards are made with the assumption that users with long and powerful graphics card don’t need to use all SATA connectors while users with lots of SATA drives typically don’t need to install long cards. SilverStone engineers, took up the challenge to design a cable that will allow SATA connectors to be used even with long graphics cards installed. After months of research and development, the CP11, a revolutionary SATA cable, was conceived. It has incredibly low connector profile that is barely taller than the SATA connector on the motherboard to clear any card that you may wish to install. CP11 also has super-thin wires designed to the limit of allowable SATA standard with high quality material for uncompromised data and bandwidth integrity. They are so thin that CP11 can be routed into the tiny gaps between SATA connectors on the motherboard! If you want to utilize SATA connectors that were originally blocked off or want to upgrade your card without sacrificing SATA connections, the CP11 is your perfect solution. Features Ultra thin cable design for use on any motherboard High quality construction for top speed and reliability Super low-profile connectors Specifications Model No. SST-CP11 Color Black connector, blue cable Connectors Lateral 90° angled SATA connect...

EK Introduces Industry-First DDC Heatsink Housing

Introduction EK Water Blocks, the Ljubljana based premium water cooling gear manufacturer announced the industry’s first metallic heat sink housing upgrade kit for world-renown Xylem/Laing DDC type water pumps. This kit replaces the original plastic housing, and this add-on vastly improves the cooling performance of the motor and electronics, thus prolonging the lifespan of the water pump. Optimal heat transfer is ensured by the use of an enclosed pre-cut thermal pad . Due to its metallic construction and finned design, EK-DDC Heatsink Housing amplifies the effect of airflow. Placing the water pump in front of any fan or radiator will dramatically improve the cooling performance. Additionally, cooling performance can further be improved by filling the cavities with lithium (electrically non-conductive) grease. EK-DDC Heatsink Housing is made from cast ZAMAK (zinc, aluminum, magnesium, copper) alloy and features either nickel plated- or glossy black paint finish. This product also features a vibration dampening rubber mounting system which effectively de-couples the water pump from the rest of the computer chassis.       EK-DDC Heatsink Housing – Nickel – 19,95€ or approx $27.00 US EK-DDC Heatsink Housing – Black – 19,95€ or approx $27.00 US
