Enermax Introduces TRIATHLOR Series of PSUs, Successor to Popular Modu82+ PSU Series

March 5th, 2013, Taipei – ENERMAX, leading PC case and power supply brand, has introduced their TRIATHLOR series of power supply units, the successor to their popular Modu82+ series of PSUs. The Modu82+ has been one of the most popular power supply series ever. End users from all around the globe have appreciated this Enermax PSU because it focused on the pure essentials of a power supply: durable components, silent operation and stable performance. No wonder that Enermax has sold this series continuously from 2008 until 2013. Now, after new technological progress, the time has come to say goodbye to the Modu82+, and welcome the new Enermax TRIATHLOR series.   TRIATHLOR Series: Long Term PSU Design Enermax engineers have dismissed short-term market trends and concentrated on the development of a PSU design that will run over many years. The two versions of the TRIATHLOR series, the TRIATHLOR and TRIATHLOR FC PSUs are the real deal and, they come in a classic black housing. But don’t judge these PSUs by their simple cover: The TRIATHLOR series is equipped with latest Enermax technology. The manufacturer has spared neither costs nor effort to develop a product that meets the highest standards in terms of performance capability and quality. For example only the highest capacity Japanese capacitors are used to give a consistent and high quality build. Rock Stable at All Loads Unusual for power supplies of this price range is the integration of an expensive DC-to-DC co...

OCZ Technology Launches New VXL 1.3 Software at CeBIT 2013, Evolving Solid State Virtualization and Caching to New Levels

Virtualization Solution Delivers an Automatic Cache Warm-up Scheduler and Data Mirroring Enhancements that Enable ‘SAN-less’ Virtualized Services  HANNOVER, Germany—CeBIT 2013—March 5, 2013—OCZ Technology Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:OCZ), a leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and systems, today announced the general availability of the next release of its popular VXL Cache and Virtualization Software. VXL 1.3 has evolved its synchronous data mirroring capabilities and automatic server failover mechanisms to enable ‘SAN-less,’ highly available, fault tolerant environments based entirely on virtualized host flash. The ability to provide uninterrupted service for business-critical applications even during severe system failures is a requirement for IT managers of any sized data center, and ideally suited for virtualized database deployments, email servers, or cloud computing applications. Another innovation in this new version of VXL allows IT managers to pre-load the cache with critical data at pre-determined schedules to ensure that important data is available on SSD flash at the precise time it is required by the application. This advancement is particularly well suited for business intelligence and data analysis applications, and in particular, for columnar database deployments where the periodic collection of data to a distributed flash cache enables real-time online analysis. Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) a...

Xigmatek Prime CPU Cooler Review

Xigmatek Prime SD1484 CPU Cooler Review

Xigmatek is one of those companies that's been around for a while but still aren't a name most people use on a daily basis. They've got a long history of cases, CPU coolers, fans and accessories as well as power supplies yet they're not nearly as well-known as companies like Cooler Master, NZXT and Thermaltake just to name a few. This doesn't seem to stop them though as they make some pretty nice products. They were kind enough to send us their Prime SD1484 CPU cooler to review. Can this cooler from the little guy perform? Let's find out.
