CES 2013 PureOC Coverage
Next we jumped on over to the Sapphire Tech Booth to take a look at what they had in store for us. We were lucky to meet with them to go over a few of the products they had lined up.
First we wanted to take a look at some of the New FM series boards. While these boards are not available in the US due to its UL certification, these boards are available in other countries that don’t have strict UL regulations.
Sapphire said they would check to see if any other of their motherboards are available with the UL certification so they will be able to sell these in the States. It was interesting to check out these boards. While Sapphire is not widely known in the US for their motherboards, we have seen quite a few that are outstanding.
Here’s another shot of the motherboard line up. As you can see, you don’t see Intel boards here. All the boards they had on display were for the AMD platform. Sapphire has an exclusive deal with AMD at this point, and is widely working with AMD for most of the new hardware we saw at CES.
Next we took a look at the graphics card line up from Sapphire, and as you might have already guessed… they are all AMD graphics cards. We start with the basic lower profile HTPC 7xxx series cards to the higher end Vapor X 7970 series card.
We thought this was an interesting design to a passive cooled 7750. This is a great card to use in low noise form factor build like HTPC. This card can also handle most games in medium settings.
