Mushkin Expands Award-Winning Atlas deluxe(TM) Product Line with World’s Fastest 30GB mSATA Solid-State Drive

As you know, we are a huge proponent of SSD caching, and think every single system should have it installed now. And with motherboards such as the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H include an mSATA adapter onboard, setting up a cached system can be clean and easy. One problem with lower capcity SSDs is that with fewer NAND channels going to the controller, performance can suffer. And although a 30 GB cache can give you a noticeable performance gain, you may not be getting as much as possible out of it. In that case, you might want to check out Mushkin’s new Atlas Deluxe 30GB: Using 32nm toggle flash allows Mushkin to pack in more NAND dies per chip than they would with MLC flash. This saturates the SandForce controller as much as possible for a 30GB SSD, and the specs reflect this: 555 MB/s read, 365 MB/s write, and 92K read and 70K write IOPS at 4K random. Check out the full press release here, or after the break:   Austin, TX — Nov 08, 2012 / — Mushkin, Inc., an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance and mission-critical computer products, today announced the worldwide launch of its new 30GB Atlas deluxe(TM) mSATA solid-state drive (SSD), scheduled to start shipping this month. The new 30GB Atlas deluxe(TM), the latest from the award-winning mSATA SSD product line, is the fastest on the market, featuring read/write speeds up to 555/365 megabytes per second, and 4KB random read/write IOPS up to 92,000/70,000. CoolIT combines with Ciara to deliver HPC Rack

CALGARY, Alberta, Canada – November 08, 2012 CoolIT Systems Inc, the leading supplier of liquid cooling solutions for high-performance desktops, enterprise servers, and high-performance clusters has teamed up with Montreal’s Ciara Technologies Inc. in the Demand Liquid Alliance to use Rack Direct Contact Liquid Cooling to enable unparalleled performance at the CPU and GPU level. Experienced with CoolIT’s technology , Ciara is once again looking to harness liquid cooling to push the boundaries of computing productivity. “We are overclocking our CPU’s in a 1u chassis allowing for densities never seen before. Our customers are demanding unprecedented compute productivity and CoolIT’s Rack DCLC allows us to deliver”, said Darcy Letemplier, VP of Engineering, Ciara Technologies. Rack DCLC is allowing Ciara to build and test server architecture in a 1u form factor that was previously only available in a 3u chassis. By allowing for a 67% increase in compute density per rack, Ciara’s new overclocked server architecture will not only allow for more compute productivity per core; but will also allow customers to fit high-powered clusters in much smaller space.  “We are amazed at the performance levels that Ciara has been able to achieve once the cooling limitations were removed. The Ciara engineering team has taken an innovative approach with their hardware decisions and by leveraging the liquid cooling advantage, they have created a unique offering for the High ...

Cooler Master Seidon 120M Liquid CPU Cooler

Today we are going to be looking at a new AIO/CL CPU Liquid Cooler unit. Just in case you don't know these termes, AIO stands for "All in One" and "CL" for "Closed Loop." These conventions have become rather popular over the last few years in the PC world. With the latest technology advancements in water cooling, it has become much easier for consumers to water cool their PCs with these AIO CPU Liquid Cooling units. The design takes the guess work out. With water cooling kits in the past, it could take countless hours of planning, and assembly could become a headache for those that have no experience. However, recently we have seen a change with the new trend in water cooling. We have started to see these AIO and CL coolers show up from several manufactures. Today we are going to take a look at a new-comer in the AIO CPU Liquid Cooler field. It is a device from Cooler Master called the Seidon 120m Liquid CPU Cooler. While we have seen multiple manufactures with a similar designs, Cooler Master really stepped up to the plate in trying to provide something a little different and competitive. As we move forward in this review we will take a look at how the Cooler Master Seidon 120M Liquid CPU Cooler stacks ups and how Cooler Master's design sets them apart. Before we move forward let's get to know Cooler Master a little better.
