SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Oct. 3, 2011— The NVIDIA GeForce StarCraft II Pro/Am tournament came to an exciting close in recent days, as the professional and amateur champions from among more than 9,300 players were crowned by renown e-sport shoutcasters Husky and Day[9] of the Game Station.

The first GeForce.com-hosted tournament, offering more than $6,000 in prize money, drew broad interest from StarCraft and gaming fans, and was streamcasted to more than 80,000 StarCraft fans around the world.

ZeNEXHack and coLrsvp matched up first in the Amateur Division Grand Finals. This Protoss vs. Terran match featured some phenomenal play and decision making from the Protoss. In the end, CoLrsvp prevailed, taking the series 2-0 and winning an NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 590 by ASUS, and $1,800 in cash.

In the GSPA Professional Division Grand Finals, two of the world’s best Terran players fought it out. In one corner was SlayerSMMA, the protégé of StarCraft Brood Wars legend BoxeR, and in the other corner we had IMMvp, a former top-tier Brood Wars player in his own right. After four great games and one epic series, SlayerSMMA came out on top, taking home an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 by ASUS, and $4,725 in cash.
