People rarely like change. We like our things in a certain way, and most prefer that comfort zone. It is often difficult to venture outside the box, and put that comfort at risk for the sake of something different. I suspect that a computer mouse is not much different; people like that comfort zone, literally and figuratively, and trying a new mouse is not something that most embrace with open arms. But once in awhile you just have to give it a shot and see if something different is worthwhile. Well, today is that day. We have a new mouse that is different enough to challenge that comfort zone, and it promises a couple radical design changes from what we’ve typically seen around the market. But can the Silverstone Raven Gaming Mouse compete with the heavyweights in a market dominated by familiarity? We’re not sure, but we’re about to find out.
Silverstone is well known in enthusiast circles as gurus for water cooling cases and power supplies, but they’re not the first name to come to mind when thinking about a computer mouse. It seems they’re looking to expand their horizons, however, and have released the Raven Gaming Mouse (more precisely referred to as the SST-RVM01B if you’re into SKU-speek).
