Posted September 29, 2008 by admin in Internet

The project is run by Stanford University and its aim is to find clues as to the causes of some of the worlds most serious diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes by simulating protein folding (the building of protein) by running a distributed computing project using hundreds of thousands of PC?s just like yours to crunch away the calculations that no super computer can even match!

The small application runs in the background using up unused CPU cycles. You can run it when your not using your PC or during, it?s that simple.

You can join the PureOverclock Folding Team by entering our Team number when you install the folding@home client.
