OCZ’s original Core series SSD pricing plummets

Posted September 18, 2008 by admin in News

OCZ must be really wanting to give the last of the first-generation Core series 2.5-inch SSDs away for free but since that’s not really a smart move it just decided to substantially lowered their prices. The 64GB Core drive started out at $269 but now Newegg has it at $169 or only $99 thanks to a $70 mail-in rebate. In contrast, the 60GB Core V2 SSD costs $299 so, if you can leave aside the lower speeds of the first-gen Cores, that $99 price tag is very attractive
