ASRock had previously changed its strategy from focusing on entry-level motherboards to target the mid-range and high-end segments in order to boost its profits.
ASRock announced revenues of NT$488 million (US$15.19 million) for August, a drop of 37.48% on year. Accumulated revenues for the first eight months were only NT$3.67 billion, a drop of 45.1% compared to the same period in the previous year.
ASRock’s net profit after tax in the first half this year was NT$376 million with an earnings per share (EPS) of NT$3.67, both significant drops compared to NT$1.05 billion and NT$11.55 during the first half of 2007.
