The previously reported expansion of Asus’ Eee PC line-up will see the Taiwanese company release, among others, two S-series netbooks which are set to be shiny, very slim (16 to 21mm thick) and powered by Intel Atom processors.

The highest-end and most expensive ($700 to $900) S-series laptop is the S101 and it can be seen, in Engineering Sample form, for the first time, just below. The S101 will be equipped with a 16:9 10.1-inch LED backlit LCD, make use of an 1.6 GHz Atom CPU and the 945GM chipset with integrated graphics and will be available with either a 32 or 40GB solid state drive (SSD).
