Patriot roll-out Vortex dual-fan memory cooler
Set to bring more stability for overclocked and non-overclocked memory modules, the Vortex takes up one DIMM slot and features two 40mm fans working at (a loud?) 5000 RPM (rotations per minute) which can be rotated so as to provide an optimal air flow.
“Heat is a major enemy when it comes to high-performance overclocking memory,” Les Henry, Technical Director of Patriot Memory. “By adding airflow directly over the memory, Vortex can lower module temperatures up to 30%. This means potentially higher performing memory with increased stability for running today’s complex multi-threaded applications which require high-bandwidth, low-latency memory.”
