The trio also boasts Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, one eSATA and five SATA 3.0 Gbps ports each and VGA, DVI and HDMI connectivity. The DKA790GX Platinum, DKA790GX both feature two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots to enable CrossFire X setups while the KA790GX has only one and has to settle with only the Hybrid CrossFire capability.

To continue with the differences between the boards we have to note that the KA790GX has a simple heatsink cooling setup while the DKA790GX and DKA790GX Platinum can brag with having a heatpipe-loaded solution and the Flat Circu-Pipe system respectively. Moreover, the DKA790GX comes equipped with a Clear CMOS button while the KA790GX Platinum has Power / Reset / Clear CMOS buttons, FireWire plus, a 1Gb (MSI couldn’t say 128MB apparently) SidePort memory chip.

For starters MSI has launched the DKA790GX Platinum which should reach stores very soon with the DKA790GX and KA790GX set to arrive before the end of Q3.
