Nvidia has put out a press release to gloat about the fact that Shattered Horizon will support its PhysX physics acceleration technology. According to the official game website, Shattered Horizon will see players “fight in zero gravity surrounded by the broken remains of . . . billions of tons of rocky debris thrown into orbit by a huge explosion on the Moon. With simple and intuitive controls players [will] have complete freedom of movement, making full use of the distinctive environment to control the battle.”

Futuremark Games Studio chief Jukka Mäkinen claims PhysX has proven “essential” in making zero-gravity combat both realistic and fun. Judging by the official screenshot below, Futuremark will tap PhysX to simulate large quantities of debris.
