Apparently, Monday the reviews will begin pouring in while actual cards will arrive in stores later on, before the end of this month.

The Radeon HD 4870 X2 is said to be coming in several configurations but its basis remains a chip trio consisting of two RV770 GPUs and one PLX PCI-Express 2.0 bridge chip. Boasting 1600 Stream Processors, the new X2 will have a 2×256-bit memory interface and will be equipped with (at least) 1GB of memory (GDDR5). The 1GB card’s expected price tag is $499.
