Gigabyte watercools upcoming P45 board

As you can see from the picture below, there’s a new watercooler on the chipset instead of the air cooler with heatpipes that was on the earlier revision of the board. The chipset will of course work fine even if it’s just air cooled, but on the earlier pictures of the board it wasn’t clear how the watercooling would work.

What you can’t tell from this picture is that Gigabyte has also added water inlets to the large vertical heatsinkwhich should further enhance the cooling performance of the chipset on this motherboard.

The overall design of the P45-Extreme is quite different from the rest of the P45 motherboards that Gigabyte will launch in less than a months time, although we doubt that this model will be among the first to hit the market.
