GeForce 9800 GX2 prices drop in the UK

Unfortunately, only one of the aforementioned boards is in stock, which is BFG’s 9800 GX2 at CCL. Bit-Tech have compiled a rather large table with the rest of the bargains.

Scan appears to be the retailer with the best range of products in stock, and also the lowest average price (discounting those with just one product in stock) at ?404.78 including VAT. What’s more, four of the cards that are available on Scan are currently sitting under the ?400 mark and that includes the XFX card that we reviewed on launch day.

CCL, on the other hand, comes up trumps with the lowest-priced card in stock ? BFG Tech’s GeForce 9800 GX2, priced at an attractive ?374.99 (inc. VAT). Ebuyer is listing Point of View’s card at ?360.00, but sadly the retailer has no stock available yet.

With the cut prices in effect, a dual 8800 GTS 512MB setup still remains cheaper than a 9800 GX2 (on average, both setups perform on par, give or take 2 or 3 FPS). Overclockers UK have Leadtek’s 8800 GTS 512MB for ?164. So ?328 for two 8800 GTS’s, or ?352 for the cheapest 9800 GX2 available? I’ll let you decide…
