It is about time a hard disk drive manufacturer has released a 500GB laptop hard disk in the 2.5? form factor. Fujitsu and Hitachi claimed to have introduced the 500GB laptop hard disk drive earlier this year; however, those drives were 3mm thicker at 12.5mm instead of the standard 9.5mm. Because of this, it is more than likely incompatible with many laptops. Samsung?s new 500GB laptop hard drive on the other hand is 9.5mm and uses 3 167GB platters.
Ever since the Silverthorne processor, known as Atom after it was revealed, Intel has been going on and on about its lilliputan die size, low power usage and full x86 compatibility. However, Intel has yet to release clock speeds that will put a figure on just how fast the processor is in relation to its competitors in the mobile platforms.
