We knew that there were people out there sitting on results over 31, 000 points in 3DMark 06. We just didn’t expect any of them to post at this stage. SF3D revealed his 31,000 score yesterday, but so did also German overclocker no_name. Both of them used CrossFireX setups with two Radeon HD 3870X2 cards cooled by liquid nitrogen. no_name was able to push his cards to higher frequencies and right now that gives him the edge with about 500 points. With his two Radeon HD 3870X2 clocked at 1054/1150MHz he was able to score 31,782 points in 3DMark 06.

The processor was only up to 5640MHz, which means that 32,000 will fall by the hands of an overclocker with a 5.8-5.9GHz setup. Hipro5 is the first that comes to mind. Liquid nitrogen was used to keep the four graphics cores at about -100?C.

His CPU was running at a slightly higher frequency of 5719 MHz for the 3DMark 03 record.
