Nvidia's 8800 GS has been rather quietly launched. Its been a while since we've run a story on this, so I'll give the tech briefing. The 8800 GS is clocked at 550MHz for the core, and 800MHz for the 384MB of GDDR3 memory (which as the memory size suggests, is on a 192-bit bus). The board's 96 stream processors, and shader clock of 1375MHz slot it in between the 8600 GTS and 8800 GT. The 8800 GS will live a short life, as the 9600 GT will replace it on February 21st.
