Intel Yorkfield delayed until February

Posted December 8, 2007 by admin in CPU & Motherboards

The remaining desktop Yorkfield parts have been postponed until late February, according to French enthusiast site, Hardware.fr. Apparently a bug, that in very rare circumstances, causes crashes is present in all Yorkfield parts – including the already launched QX9650. This has never been witnessed in the wild, though Intel has detected the eratta in the lab through a new validation procedure. This gives AMD an extra month to roll out the bug-free B3 revision Phenoms with higher clocks.
