Intel to postpone new naming scheme

Posted September 18, 2007 by admin in CPU & Motherboards

Each year, Intel holds meetings with its partners to investigate consumer feedback. However, it was told that the new naming scheme did not achieve its goal to simplify brand names and even worsened the situation, noted the sources at motherboard makers. Intel will continue to go ahead with the renaming of Viiv and vPro platforms as these brands have not performed as well as expected, therefore Intel needs to add the Core 2 name to them to break the barrier, the sources explained.
