Among the reported fixes are improvements in poor memory management, visual appearance issues, poor HD DVD and Blu-ray quality playback, AVI corruption, poor time estimation during file transfer, (breathe in) game crashes under GeForce 8-series graphics drivers and finally issues with Canon cameras and HP printers.

The urgent emergency repair packs (as we like to call them) are available through Microsoft’s website and are available for 64-bit and 32-bit flavours of Vista. The performance update weighs 9.9MB, while the compatibility fix is only 2.1MB.
