Toshiba unveil first AMD based notebooks

The A215 series of notebooks all feature AMD dual-core Turions and come with Vista installed. The entry level features a baseline Turion X2 TL-56 and 1GB memory while the flagship Gold Edition features a Turion X2 TL-64 and 2GB of memory. AMD’s M690T chipset with Mobility Radeon X1200 graphics, connected to a 15.4-inch widescreen display is present in all the systems displayed.

Toshiba also haven’t gone light on the extras – every model comes standard with a 160GB, 200GB or 250GB hard drive, integrated 802.11b/g, four USB ports and Toshiba’s DVD Super Multi drive. A webcam is also available on selected models. Toshiba claim that the starting weight for each model is 6.29lbs.
