Asus prepares Xonar PCIe soundcard
The ASUS AV200, to be manufactured by C-Media, is a PCI-based sound processor found in the Xonar cards. As the D2X is PCIe based, the card requires a bridge chip which coincidentally requires an external four-pin power connector. Asus say the performance of the Xonar D2X and D2 are identical – regardless of the PCIe to PCI bridge chip. The Xonar D2-series features 24-bit/192 KHz audio processing, Dolby Digital Live and DTS.
Additionally, the card integrates Dolby and DTS technologies such as Dolby Headphone, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Virtual Speaker, DTS Interactive and DTS Neo:PC. The ASUS Xonar D2-series also supports ASIO 2.0 for low latency audio tasks.
