Sapphire leak HD 2900 XTX information
Sapphire?s product matrix reveals the Radeon HD 2900 XTX will feature 1GB of GDDR4 memory clocked at 2050MHz, the board will also feature the same core clock of 740MHz as the XT, which reveals the core will be using the same 80nm process used in the current R600 boards. At present, the only main clear difference between the XTX and the current flagship is the 512MB of GDDR3 memory at 1650MHz found in the HD 2900 XT, which is no match for the 1GB GDDR4 found in the XTX.
Given that ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT already has 105.6GB/s peak memory bandwidth and still cannot beat Nvidia?s GeForce 8800 GTX/Ultra, it is uncertain whether the Radeon HD 2900 XTX will be able to compete against its rivals. Still, with the Radeon HD 2900 XTX its developer will be able to claim the world?s first consumer graphics card with 1GB of memory with the world?s highest peak memory bandwidth of 131.2GB.
