PS3 firmware 1.80 released

Posted May 24, 2007 by admin in Consoles

One of the main benefits of firmware 1.80 enables the console to upscale Playstation 1 and Playstation 2 games, as well as standard DVD’s, to 1080p. Also new is Remote Play, allowing users to access their PS3, through a PSP, anywhere in the world where a broadband internet connection is present. The new firmware also allows the PS3 to view media content such as images, music and video that is stored on DLNA3 enabled devices such as PC’s and laptops, on their PS3. One final addition to the update enables support for a selection of Epson printers, allowing the console to print photos stored on the PS3?s hard disk or inserted storage media.
