Mainly influenced by Sandisk’s Sansa Connect, Apple are planning a re-spin on their range of Ipods. To be produced by Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) and assembled by Foxconn the new Ipod will have Wifi capabilities and a storage size of around 6GB. Shipments could be as early as May, pricing details are currently unknown.

Microsoft’s Zune has led to increasing development of Wi-Fi portable music players, with Singapore-based Creative and SanDisk showcasing such players at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
