The top spec card at the R600 launch will be a watercooled card according to this. R600 Uber edition will end up as the fastest R600-based card of the first batch on the shelves. The key secret is a water cooler. We heard that two companies are competing to make the cooler. One is Aavid , which we have already seen on many graphic cards and the second is Denmark-based Asetek.
For ?200 this is a great buy, and if you head on over?there now you can order one. There was stock for this earlier today but it’s now sold out thanks to The Inquirer linking to it! More stock on Monday apparently.
The Inq have stated that R600 will suport a quad setup, sell your house, sell your soul, your going to need to, this is going to be expensive! WE LEARNED one more critical detail about the R600. The chip can and will support Quad setups. It will work with four cards. ATI has been working to solve the four card performance problem for a while. Nvidia tried it and we tested the Quad SLI with two 7950 GX2 cards but we got super lame performances out of it.
