Mac users face the first security threat
A program known as Leap-A has been trying to spread via Apple?s iChat instant messenger. It disguises itself as images of Apple’s forthcoming version of its operating system, called Leopard, and plunders buddy lists if installed.?
Security firms have classified the worm as level 1, which means it offers low risks to the computer. In spite of that, users have been advised not to accept file transfers, not even those that come from a buddy list.
This is the first time we hear about a virus that attacks Apple computers. The thread has made?users aware of the fact that Apple might only be a safer option for as long as it might take for someone to find ways to attack their system.
