AMD announces AMD Live!

Advanced Micro Devices during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) formally announced its AMD Live! program under which partners of the world?s second largest maker of microprocessors will manufacture media center personal computers with advanced set of capabilities for managing digital media. Personal computers (PCs) branded as AMD Live! should run Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition and be able to stream music through their entertainment center, view and share photos on the TV, burn recorded TV shows, videos, music and pictures to a DVD or CD, or transfer this same content to a notebook, MP3, portable media player or personal digital assistant. AMD said such PCs will be powered by AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors and will be equipped with remote controllers.



New coolers from Arctic Cooling due February

Arctic Cooling will launch a new series of Graphic card coolers named Accelero (X1 for ATI X1800/ X1900 Series and X2 for NVDIA 6800/ 7800 Series). According to Arctic Cooling, a vast amount of development times was devoted to low noise testing, and the fruit of there labour is?a patented vibration muffler. ?Complex airflow simulations were conducted during development of the fan, the results were incredible cooling performance at extremely low noise levels as a result of?the 6 heatpipes?, Said the company. Specifications are as follows: Arctic Cooling manufacture some of the best GPU coolers on the market, so i await these with anticipation.?We’ll be reviewing both the X1 and X2 as soon as we get samples.?
